Nearly a hundred people, many from the Mountain Harbour community, came out to support a fundraiser for local animals and their caretakers to benefit ARFS (Animal Rescue Financial Support) on Sunday, April 16, at the Mountain Harbour Clubhouse.
More than 50 raffle prizes were offered thanks to the generosity of businesses in Hayesville, Hiawassee and Blairsville, and the generosity of many individual community members. Paw-ty goers were treated to a fabulous array of desserts and finger foods prepared by Mountain Harbour’s extraordinary chef, Luis Gonzalez, and great live entertainment by The Tom Proctor Band.
“We are thrilled with the community support given to the first fundraiser on behalf of ARFS aiding animals and their owners. It is so rewarding to have raised the visibility for ARFS, and to gain awareness for pets in need. I personally am so grateful to all who donated time, money and prizes and to each individual who was there. The Tom Proctor Band was the icing on the cake as they provided a lively, fun soundtrack for the event,” said Nanci Hayward, one of event’s organizers.
